"I am much more well read with this condition than I was two years back when I first got diagnosed. I am beginning to understand how my body works, what sort of food fuels me in the right way.

Opening up my personal PCOS story is not as easy as it sounds. It brings back a lot of emotions, stress and, negativity. But, Finally after years, I am beginning to see the light at the end of the long and dark tunnel.

I cannot say that I am finally in control of my imbalances, because I am still dealing with this. But what I can tell you is this,

"I am much more well read with this condition than I was two years back when I first got diagnosed. I am beginning to understand how my body works, what sort of food fuels me in the right way. And most importantly, when my body suddenly decides to stop functioning in a normal way, and isn’t losing weight, or I start having severe bloat and bad cycles, I know what went wrong"

In October of 2020, during a time when most of us around the world were at our unhealthiest. It was covid, and being stuck at home just made things a lot complicated. And it was the same with me.

I was "obese", eating a crazy amount of junk and ordering in even in the middle of the night. My cycles were so bad, and I can no energy, my emotions were all over the place, and deep down and I sensed something was not right so I wanted to get myself checked.

Following a series of tests, scans, and bad experiences with doctors and medication, I was actually going from bad to worse. Even today, I find a few people, who think, these kinds of hormonal imbalances are quite normal. Even doctors tell you the same thing. Write off a couple of 'Birth control' pills and some 'Metformin' and tell you, "Yes, yes a lot of my patients have the same thing as you, so no worries, you will be fine"

And this is when I started talking to people, and I realised, there were many like me, who have had similar experiences with PCOS. And sadly we accept it and we don’t realise the impact this can have on our health and future.

And this prompted me to start reading about what PCOS is. What are the impacts and constraints it has in my life? What should I do next?

With the help of online nutritionists, PCOS specialists, and a number of books and reading material, I was able to figure out a lot of things in terms of food, health, and lifestyle.

Today I am also helping out a small group of women, who are in a similar situation as me. Helping them to stay motivated, and push through their struggles has given me an even greater purpose in this journey.
